Special visa to photograph in Argentina?
|
Dear all,
I am planning a multimedia project in argentina.
I have traveled there already, but mainly for tourism, and would like to go back to document a conflict over land of people I’m in touch with, so this may involve taking pictures of police, tribunals etc.
Does anyone know about special requirements for visa that could be requested to photograph these situations, as there are in other countries? In case there are, would you recommend applying for this kind of visa?
Don’t have press card, by the way.
Thanks all,
best
tommaso

Contact photographer Patricio Murphy – he’s here on Lightstalkers, so you can PM him.

Hi Tomasso (and hi, Neal!)
Yesterday I ran into an Italian colleague (Filippo Fiorini, he’s based here in Buenos Aires). He’s been covering everything here, including Presidential speeches (that needs clearance from the Ministry of Interior) without any special visa, just a card from the media he works for.
I’m sending you a mail putting you in contact with Filippo, being a stranger and working here he may be able to answer your doubts better than me.
Cheers,
Pat
