Toughbook drivers?
|
We had to reinstall WinXP (SP2) on a Toughbook CF-29; for whatever reason, the touchscreen and the wireless card aren’t being detected/installed. I’ve looked around for downloadable drivers for each, but am not having much luck. Anyone have wisdom on this?

Try here:

You may have to install them in a specific order.

Thanks, that was helpful. I’m down to one problem with the Toughbook — after upgrading to XP (SP2), the Intel wireless network adapter doesn’t work. I’ve been trying to use the drivers available from Intel, but no luck. Any advice there?

What is happening, exactly?
What is its status in the Device Manager (right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager > right click the adapter > Properties > General tab)?
I’m not familiar with the Toughbook specifically.

In Device Manager, everything is good except the wifi network adapter; it’s detected as a network controller, but as such just shows up with a question mark. I downloaded drivers from Intel, and tried updating the driver manually with no success. I also tried using an older version of the driver, with the same results.

Have you tried removing the network controller in the device manager, restarting the machine, and upon startup when it detects it let it search the path where you have the downloaded intel drivers?
