TRANSLATE 1000 photo CAPTIONS

Hello there, I have to translate about 1000 picture captions from English to Polish. I wonder if somebody had found a smart way, relielable and efficient to do a similar job, Best.

Is there some reason not to hire a translator for this ?

Hi Federico,

remember that those automatic translation programs (Google, Bing, whatever) can make quite embarrassing errors in their translations. And, IMO, even if the translations weren’t really embarrassing and while the photos are of course more important, poor translations may have an effect on how you appear professionally.

You can search for translators and ask for quotes for example through these sites (some translators state in their profiles how much they charge per source word):

www.proz.com
www.translatorscafe.com

If you can translate some of the text by yourself you can then ask “only” proofreading which costs less (unless your translation is really unusable…).

Cheers,
Laura
