vista fix - possible data loss, Canon 1D & 1Ds

there seems to be a weird bug with raw files in vista and microsoft just released an update (that actually fixes a lot of other crap as well):

If you edit an image file that uses the RAW image format, data loss occurs in the image file. This problem occurs if the RAW image is from any of the following digital SLR camera models:

• Canon EOS 1D
• Canon EOS 1DS

i have no clue how many of you are actually using vista, but for some strange reason i am currently. (its ridiculous btw, but it came with my current laptop and i dont have the time to change it at the moment..)
i know the above is a rare scenario, i doubt anyone here is using vista for serious raw processing, but who knows, after all someone might try out the raw feature and end up with broken files.

Vista itself is full of bugs, so if it poses problems with RAW files; I wont be surprised. Lets see how it works out for me. Just got vista myself and would be doing RAW processing for my 30D. But yes, updates and fixes should be up on the microsoft site. 5 years into making Vista and this is the best they can come up with. They really need to pick up their pace and keep up with the changing technology as far as media/photography. Until i can afford a good MAC home consumer PC has to do the work for now.
