Pushkar Camel Fair

Does anyone know the exact dates for the camel fair? I know it is the week leading up to the full moon at the end of Nov.( I think the 24th). I saw somewhere that it is scheduled for the 21-24. But last time I went the camel trading was almost over before that last week of Kartik. So I was wondering if anyone has any detailed info from a reliable source? Thanks

Thanks to Dilip for that link. On that site they say 17th-24th of Nov. What I sort of got from last time was that the camels get there early, then come the horses, and then the pilgrims.

2006: November 2 – 5, 2006.
2007: November 21 – 24, 2007.
2008: November 10 – 13, 2008.
2009: October 30 – November 02, 2009.
2010: November 18 – 21, 2010.

you’re right. i’d suggest arrival in pushkar earlier than the publicized dates. for one thing, the camels and livestock traders arrive about a week earlier, and there few tourists then…better access perhaps…prices are more reasonable etc. tourists and pilgrims arrive over the publicized 5-6 days… i believe the pilgrims peak on the last 2 days.

Thanks for the info. As you suggest Tewfic, I think I will try to get there around the 14th. That way I will get to see some of the build-up and some serious camel dealing. And then I will stay on till the pilgrims start crowding the city and then run.
