I’m going to be covering 2 separate stories on the Johor & Malacca straits during December. The features will be part of a series covering straits around the world, for Rhythms Monthly, a Chinese language geographic glossy. I will only be shooting photos for the two features, and not covering interviews/text.

I’m looking for photographers in the region (Singapore, Malaysia, Melaka, etc) who might be able to help with some tips or suggest fixers (particularly those with fluency in Malay) who can help. Broadly, the themes I’m looking into include : piracy, trade, drug/human trafficking, cultural exchange, migrant labor, immigration, colonial history.
