reallocating to work in Europe

Hi, I might need to reallocate to Europe because I might be offered job in Stockholm. I live in NY now.
I am worrying because I do not know how things are working in Europe. How to make a move and if I am a US citizen how and where am I going to pay taxes and many other questions related to reallocating to another country.
If you know anything, please write.
Thank you

Etel apart from knowing that the Swedish pay a lot of taxes, I cant help you much, but regarding working visas, if you have a contract I’m sure you’ll get one.
If you’re working and being payed in Europe you’ll obviously need to pay you taxes here.

If you’re moving to Sweden you can find many of your answers here: http://amerikanska.com/. And Alexandre is correct, Swede’s pay high taxes. How much you will pay will depend in whether you will be working in Sweden for a company or as a freelancer. If you do come to Sweden to work feel free to contact me again – I am a U.S. citizen who moved to Sweden three years ago to base myself here as a freelancer.

Thank you very much for your replies.
I am confused because it is a full time position and I do not have a clear feedback from a recruitment agency who is setting it up. It is a design position in a big design corporation based in Stockholm. I am going to be there this coming Monday for an interview and I need to be able to ask the right questions about pay and other stuff. I tried to ask around but nobody has related experience.
How is it in Sweden?
With my best regards
Thank you to all of you.

Well the biggest differences overall you will find are that health and medical care, pension and benefits are not voluntary but mandatory. Pensions, what you will pay or save is not what you will get if compared to a 401K in the US, one generation is paying for the other. High standards of living but huge contributions for the community. Hope you drink cheap as well, cold winter and pretty expensive to warm up. Apart from this, make the move, this will be a great experience anyway. If they are asking you to make the move, they are not the kind of people who gonna try to screw you (excuse my language).
Bests
Olivier.
