Storing Canon gear in humid climate

I am curious if anyone has any tips for storing a Canon 50d and two L-series lenses in a highly humid climate.

I will be living in Costa Rica for two years and most likely, I will not have air conditioning. Nor unable to carry big dry boxes down there with me. Any cheap tricks or suggestions?
