Been there recently, you don’t really need a fixer, the people is very friendly. Of course it depends of the kind of assignment you have. In the near mountains there are some guerrilla groups named EPR (Popular Revolutionary Army) but they stay away from cities and towns… If you’re going to get into the Sierra Norte (North Sierra), O.K. you’ll need a fixer. What kind of job are you going to do? maybe I can give you some tips to find someone.
Best regards

Hi Fernando, I lived in Oaxaca about four years, back and forth between Juchitan/Ixtepec and Oaxaca City. Depending on what your working on, I might have some contacts. Good Luck!
