Recycling Epson Ink Cartridges in NYC

For anyone in NYC looking to recycle their epson ink cartridges (for R1800 or similar sized printer cartridges) the Fedex in Union Square (east) has a recycle container that accepts them.

Thought peeps would like to know, as I received this email from Epson:

“We do not refill or remanufacture them. Neither of these alternatives is cost
effective. Nor do we have a program set up to receive them for recycling
at this time. We are currently evaluating programs designed to accommodate used ink
cartridges. We are working toward a program that is environmentally
appropriate yet economical and convenient for our customers to use. “

they also have these nifty prepaid-postage plastic envelopes at any Kinko’s, at least here in NY, that you can use to send empty cartridges of any brand to a recycling center
