If the IP number the Mac is showing you starts with 169 that’s a code that meaning that it can see the network but cannot communicate with it.
Instead of using the Bgan launch software, try this instead.
Start with everything off.
Start the Bgan and let it acquire for about 5 minutes.
Turn on the computer.
Log in, and launch Safari.
Stop Safari before it can tell you it can’t load a web page.
Enter the following in the address window: 192.168.128.100
Hit return, and let the Bgan homepage load.
I know it makes no sense, but sometimes this works. Inmarsat recently issued a new version of its software, and for the first time claims to have actually written software specifically for Mac. It seems they used out of work Microsoft programmers to do it though. I have had tons of problems with it with my Mac.
Basically I travel with a Mac laptop and a PC laptop because if one works with the Bgan, the other doesn’t.
Another thing that helps sometimes is to basically "cold reboot" the Bgan. Which means unplugging it, and pulling out the battery, and letting it sit for about five minutes. That’s a Bgan service rep’s idea of a "hot tip", by the way.
Anyway, hope that helps.
Good luck.
