RELAUNCH

Just relaunched my website, new design, added stories, new portraits, etc.

http://www.jeremymlange.com

Also has an extensive overview of the project I have been working on chronicling the effects of the wars in the Middle East on people here in the USA, especially the families of those who have lost sons and daughters, who were kind enough to allow we at the funerals and memorials of their loved ones. All comments are welcome. Thanks for looking

good! the “The war at home” is my favourite selection. it’s just a consideration: have you thought of selecting a smaller number of images in the other sections? regards

Thanks for the reply.
I know there are many photos, 25 or so, in a couple of the other sections, but given the subject matter, kidnapping and the Mexican presidential election, it seemed necessary to tell the whole story.

Landscape work was a surprise for me. Brilliant I thought.

Sleek and elegant. Well done. I’ll be back for a more in depth exploration soon.

Holy crap Jeremy! Great work, but I only saw one shot from your New Orleans trip?

by Brian C Frank | 09 Jul 2008 03:07 | Des Moines, ia, United States |
Paul, the landscapes were a surprise to me too, but i realized I shoot tons of them so why not.
Brian, still debating more NOLA shots, not sure if it is concise enough for my purposes right now.
Thanks you guys for looking.

Jeremy,

Really impressive. I especially liked the Mexican election coverage and Portrait sections.

Thanks Wes, The Mexico trip was amazing, all 3 times, and Obrador and his supporters are truly a sight to behold when they get going.

hey jeremy, how are you? good to see you here.. i’m a big fan of your work as you already know.. so i love the site and the images.. i would say however that as a showcase, to consider slimming the number of images down. (i’m sure i’d say the same thing if i looked at my site with a more critical eye.) but, i think the really strong images are getting lost which is a shame, and i think it’s still possible to tell the stories with those stronger images. what do you think? i can be more specific if you want to talk.. of course it’s just one struggling photographer’s opinion coming at you here. :) keep up the great work and take care. lance

Jeremy:

your work simply sings and stings….it’s virtually impossible for me to pinpoint which story or which images bring upon the largest and meatiest whelp ‘cause there is such strong, necessary and vital work. I would simply aad what Lance and others have chimed in:

YOU DO NOT NEED ALL THESE IMAGES!...at least not for a website….the work is so vital, (just running through the 1st page portfolio is enough to showcase the vibrancy and accuracy of your eye and the hunger with which each story is gathered) that i dont think you need to showcase everything on the website…

leave people hungering for more…’cause u got the goods brother and i know you know that…

how about if you pic the 4 best stories (for you) and leave the rest wth a link to your archive (digi railroad, photoshelter, agency, wherever)...you want people who don’t know you work to blaze with luminous appetite to see more…dont satiate them…

that said, for me (who has more time to look than PE’s or agencies or galleries or media outlet), the work is just stellar Jeremy, just awesome :))

cheers

Bob, As always, thank you for your thoughtful and concise comments.
It has been a long the in the works, editing can take me forever when it really matters, so I really appreciate the time to look. I have removed some images from a few of the stories to get them in the 20 images range, what I have been told is sort of the magic number to show editing skills, so I hope that can satisfy. I had other stories but had the same conclusion you did, less is more, let the most demonstrative work show and others can go to the link to see the rest. I hope you are well and still waiting for the next time you get to NC, or elsewhere, so we can get that drink, the bourbon waits.

Jeremy :))

great. i’ll look again this afternoon :))...20 is good for a story (imho) and also you might not need lots of stories (5 great ones = 5×20-100 images)...anyway, your strong stuff simply kills :)))

and bourbon, lovely…hope to be there again next year…to visit my bro and sis-n-law in charlotte…but, wont be for a short time…hold the glasses ready :))

cheers
