Artificial audio in multimedia pieces?

Hi,

I have been noticing that it seems like more and more journalists are incorporating artificial audio into multimedia pieces lately. Specifically, it seems like I frequently see music added to projects that wasn’t actual audio from the event.

What does everyone think of this?

Personally, I have an issue with adding anything to a story that wasn’t recorded there and/or part of the event. Sure, music gives multimedia work an energy and a rhythm, but to me, it’s cheating and dishonest.

Opinions/policies on this?
