Reporters Sans Frontieres (RSF) - InsuranceFiled under: Insurance Link: http://www.reseau-damocles.org/rubrique.php3?id_rubrique=402 Notes: Insurance for Freelancers Information and registration insurance@rsf.org” class=”spip_out”> insurance@rsf.org” class=”spip_out”>Insurance policy for freelance journalists and photographers on assignmentinsurance@rsf.org” class=”spip_out”>Because of the risks involved in the job of informing the public, Reporters Without Borders and the French insurance company Bellini Prévoyance, in partnership with the ACE insurance group, are offering coverage to journalists, photographers and freelances on assignment anywhere in the world. The coverage, with three options, is valid 24 hours a day during any assignment of less than 90 consecutive days. ("The insured" is the person insured). Option 1 provides medical and other assistance (3 euros per day). Options 2 (6 euros) and 3 (7,5 euros) provide medical and other assistance plus compensation for : The indemnity is higher under Option 3. The insured must notify Reporter Without Borders in writing before departure of the option chosen. CHOOSING YOUR COVERAGE Before the assignment, you must choose the coverage best suited for you. Details of the three options are available from Reporters Without Borders. The first option costs 3 euros per day, the second one 6 euros and the last one 7,5 euros. You should choose as soon as you can (at the very latest before you depart) and inform Reporters Without Borders in writing. Please note that ACE Europe, Reporters without Borders (RSF)’s partner sets an additional premium for trips to the following countries : Afghanistan, Algeria, Chad, Chechnya, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, Irak, Israel, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Palestinian Authority, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan (the list of which changes from time to time). |
