REQUEST FOR HELP: any digital cameras & volunteers needed for NGO project in Mexico

Foundry Photo Workshop is excited to announce a partnership of sorts with Project Luz, a great NGO working all over Mexico to help impoverished young people express themselves and tell their stories through photojournalism. What we are looking for to support their mission:

  • digital cameras of any sort- point & shoots, old DSLRs, whatever *memory cards for the cameras – compact flash, SD cards, etc *volunteers willing to stay in DF for some time (few days to a week) after the Foundry Workshop and volunteer with Project Luz, in its project in the Neza neigbhorhoods of Mexico City

If you have ANY cameras or memory cards you are willing to donate please bring them to the Foundry Workshop . We will collect them and distribute to Project Luz.

If you want to volunteer, contact Jasmin at:

Project Luz is an excellent way to give back to the communities which give us so much as photographers.

Thanks Eric for bringing attention to this worthy cause.

Please donate to a worthy cause. I am teaching with Project Luz and available to collect any materials you can offer in San Francisco. Also, if you can mail supplies to me that would also work. Dig deep guys, these kids need our help. Give them the gift we all love so much.

Project Luz is a great organization which provides tangible benefit in children’s lives, and supports photojournalism as a catapult for social change. Please give all the support you can to their worthy mission.

Abso-frickin-lutely…...

Anything would be awesome…

Every extra cam = another kid having a good time with photo and learning about documenting their community….

Theres more amazing teachers than you can shake a stick at, thank god for all the generous souls from LS an elsewhere, that are donating their time and talent, but yes… please… more gear needed.

I shipped off an old digital camera, bag, and accessories to Michael M (above). I believe he can still receive equipment this week (he’s in San Francisco CA area).
