<notes>Another option is a place called The Woodmere in the Kilimani neighborhood. They're serviced apts. meaning they're just like home. Well sort of, they are fully furnished, last time I was there they had Wi-Fi (pay per use), although it was pretty spotty reception and connection, they have a pool and a small gym which is nice. And you have a kitchen so you can cook for yourself. It is pretty strategically located on a lot of matatu and bus routes so you can get around and it is next to the Ya-Ya center, a western style mall, where you can grocery shop, clothes shop etc. There is a hiking outdoor store and a book store there as well. There are a few pretty damn good restaurants in the area (cedars lebanese restaurant, moonflower restaurant, this jazzy night club called casablanca, where D.A. Harvey shot for his Nat Geo Nairobi story, and a little joint for grilled chicken called the green house, with some nice live music. This option is a little more expensive but depending on your budget is way cheaper than a hotel for the length of your stay. Just a guess but the last time i was there it was probably about $500 bucks for three weeks. And this place is totally safe and secure. The owner is american married to a kenyan woman and has lived in Kenya ever since he was a peace corps volunteer some forty years ago. </notes>
