Bio.
Self taught photographer, Richard Crampton was born in England in 1963. His professional photography career began in 1996 after an accident at work and a medical discharge from the fire service.
Not too disheartened he started work as a freelance photographer prior to the digital age. “Hand deving film was fun in those days, dry to dry in 6 mins, i don’t think i was the quickest but not bad”.
He attended Sheffield College Norton, gaining a merit from the National Council for the Training of Journalists in Press Photography.
To date his work has been published widely in Regional, National and International Press. Magazines like Hello, Ok, View, De Morgan,The Week, Chat, Loaded, Womans Own to name but a few. Used on television programmes as diverse as the News to Not The Nine O’clock News on BBC2.
He has covered all types of sport, news, riots to royal visits foreign and home.
Being represented by Rex Features one of Britain’s leading International Press Agencies and Picture Libraries, his work has been appreciated around the globe.
His photographs are held in a number of public and private collections.
