If you have published a book you may be part of this settlement- It only takes a minute to register. In 2004 Google undertook the task of scanning (digitalizing) the contents of several cooperating libraries, and in some cases displaying books without permission on the Google website. Google did not ask permission from the rights holders to do this. Several authors and publishers sued Google, claiming copyright infringement. As part of the $45 million settlement (approximately $60 per book), Google will compensate the rights holders for all titles used by Google without permission before May 5, 2009.
You may begin the process of claiming your titles by going to http://www.googlebooksettlement.com.
