Yo Victor. welcome to tha new crew. there seems to be a disproportionate number of post-hardcore vets in the house.

don’t know chapinlandia, but I haven’t paid my scene dues in a while. I did get a message from Ian MacKaye recently—Fugazi seems to be no more, but he has a new band, I’m spacing on the name.

As you’ve probably noticed, Lightstalkers is a DIY project.

cheers—

teru,
thanks for the welcome. i saw ian mackaye’s new joint the evens in sf a couple months back, and it was great. soulful, sincere, but energetic too. heard the record is great too. cant say how excited i am to find a little pocket of diyness. my scene dues are a little past due as well. chapinlandia is slang for guatemala, and it’s great, amazing crew of photogs, stories for miles. just got back from chasing the non-event that was hurricane adrian, little damage in el salvador and it barely rained here, gracias a dios. anyway, thanks, hasta pronto-

well, i certainly can’t let an opportunity pass to express my appreciation to rites of spring, ignition, gray matter, soul side, minor threat, embrace, et al. was just listening to the “twenty years of dischord” boxset in the rental car as i was driving from nyc to chicago this weekend to drop off my dog to be watched by friends of mine there. man, the amazing thing about fugazi is that they seemed to be always growing and the records just got better and better. they were as good, more interesting even, when i saw them in chicago a couple of years ago when i was living there, than when i first saw them in pittsburgh in maybe 1987/8 and i was a 13/14 year old punk rock kid who felt like i finally found a good family to be a part of, and that i’m still connected to through my friends. in fact, just before i left for the airport yesterday in chicago to come to delhi, i dropped off my dog at steve albini’s studio where friends of mine (including my dog-sitting friend)were mixing a new record. i have that evens record and i’d recommend picking it up, there’s some great stuff on there. it’s ian and amy farina, who was in the warmers with ian’s brother alec a handful of years ago. anyway, victor, welcome to this wonderful diy photography world that teru and crew created…

Ian works at some TV station these days, I think his involved with some crazy tv show for kids, helping out with music, etc. minor threat forever, damn it.

good for Ian, still shaping young minds…

we should start a Cro-Mags cover band with revolving members depending on who is in town, or when ever 5 of us are in the same place.

I want to play Harley!

Wow, add me to the list of ex-punk/hc kids, please. Grew up on a steady diet of late ‘80s Revelation Records NYHC and Dischord. I still have the ol’ Les Paul and Marshall, so count me in for a Cro-Mags cover band! Too bad I got rid of the van a long time ago…

Lately I’ve been listening to “13 Point Program to Destroy America.”

“Respect is due, Nation of Ulysses.”

Teru!!!

I have a pic somewhere of me in Ghazni Afgh in 2002 wearing a Gorilla Biscuits T-Shirt. Add me to the list. Can I be in the Cro-Mags cover band? “We Gotta Know”!!!!

“there’s a rhythm to the madness,
and I think it’s gettin’ strange…”

aight, the band is on, I’ll be Mackie.
I still have a bronco XLT gathering dust in the parking lot, so perhaps we can get a trailer and do the summer tour thing.
