i am currently working on two projects that will hopefully come to life in book form. i have been documenting remote streams in the north georgia mountains in an effort to photograph the habitat of the eastern hemlock tree in the southern appalacian mountains. all the hemlocks are dying from an invasive insect that has slowly made its way down the mountain range over the past 50 years. north georgia is the hemlock’s last stand, so to speak.

i am also working on a project to document max woody a 6th generation rocking chair maker in the mountains of north carolina.

i am determined to get myself overseas photographing the bigger picture in places where survival is job one. if anyone can help get me there, please contact me. ronnie@ronniepettit.com
