I’m hoping to photograph in Nigeria in 2012. This would be my first work in Africa.
Anyone got any tips that would help me?
Recommendations for good fixers would be particularly useful.
Ideas on what I’d need to take (first aid kit style and whatnot) also useful.
I’m also concerned about the power supply shortages – how can I best manage this situations? I’d be shooting digital and probably also video and audio capture. I’m expecting each trip to last 2-3 weeks.
Also, does anyone know if it would be a good idea to approach an aid organisation/NGO and seek to partner with them to do this work? I’m planning to fund the trip elsewhere so wouldn’t need financial support, but a guide to the country and reliable contacts to help me would (I imagine) be very useful.
Any general tips would also be welcome.
