Sarker Protick

I am a Bangladeshi photographer with keen interest on Documentary photography and Photo Editing. After finishing my bachelors in marketing I have joined Pathshala, The South Asian Media Academy to study Professional program in Photography. Here I’ve participated in various international workshops conducted by prominent professionals and artists including Munem Wasif, Shahidul Alam, Laurence Leblanc, Sohrab Hura and Peter Bialobrzeski.

In the year of 2010 I received a scholarship from U.S Department of State and attended the Global Perspective on Democracy & New Media Journalism at University of Virginia. Later became a member of the U.S Department of State Alumni. I was also invited to participate in the Documentary photography course at the University of Gloucestershire, England as an exchange from Pathshala.

Currently I’m working on a long term project on Erosion around River Padma-Bangladesh, while continuing a very personal body of work focusing on family, elderly life and death.

My first project ‘In Midnight Black’ was selected to publish in “Under the Banyan Tree”, a 12 years retrospective book of Pathshala.
