In March 2003 he travelled to Kurdistan (north-eastern Turkey) where he explored Kurdish living conditions and the effects of child labour, documenting the daily life of an eight-year-old shoe shiner.

In 2005 he travelled to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey where he took a series of photographs following the route of the Baku Tiblisi Ceyhan (BTC) Oil Pipeline to show how the pipeline project affected the surrounding landscape and the living conditions of people living along the route.

In 2006/2007 he travelled to Nigeria to pursue another photo project in the Niger Delta. Once there he covered the Nigerian Elections in April, and explored the complex situation relating to oil production: poverty, corruption, pollution, armed rebel groups.

His reportages have been published in various British and international publications and exhibited in solo and group shows. He has collaborated with various NGOs, such as Platform and Friends of the Earth.

Scari was recently shortlisted for the Foto8 Summer Show and exhibited the selected images at the Host Gallery.
