SCRATCH DISKS FULL Mac- help!
|
Using photoshop and trying to finish a project & the dreaded “Scratch Disks Full” message appears. Using a macbookpro with CS2. I have heaps of free space left, but even so I’m clearing the files and backing everything up. Do I need the de-fragment? Any suggestions for programs to run, download… It appears that I only have one internal hard-drive (I tried to change the start-up disk)... Any real world advice will be appreciated… Thanks in advance!

Do you have an external hard drive to use as scratch disk? this can be helpfull until you can found the problem in your system.

I do have an external drive Hernan, but everything I have read online said NOT to use an external drive as start-up. The external drive is nearly full. I am madly backing everything up now on dvds…

Hi George “Funky”- How do I create a new partition? And what is the best way to defrag?
|
OS X defrags automatically, how much free space do you have on your HD and what size files are you working with and how many open at 1 time?
|
Hi Nayan- 39.69GB free on HD… 20 MG grayscale files today… Opening between 1-3 at a time…

Reinstall Photoshop Tamara. And because you’re running an Intel Mac you might even want to download a free demo of CS 3…I know you’re rolling in cash and looking for something else to spend it on so why not.. :)
