Do you have an old film camera(s) lying around that you haven’t used in ages? If you would like your old camera, lenses, flash or accessories to be put to good use, please consider sending them my way, as I am collecting second hand camera gear (must be working) to take to Papua New Guinea in 2009 to be donated to photography students at the University of PNG in Port Moresby.
Resources of all kinds are very limited in PNG, and photography students at UPNG only have access to a few ageing compact digital cameras. After speaking with the photography teacher at UPNG, it was pretty clear that the students could use some older SLR film cameras to gain more experience with manual settings, such as exposure, focus, depth of field and different lens sizes.
I will be returning to PNG in January and am hoping to take with me a selection of cameras and lenses that can be donated to the university.
If you have any photography gear that you are not using, and want to help out a great cause, please send me an email or send gear to:
Po Box 585
Also greatly sought after are second hand photography books to START a photo book library for the students.
Please contact me at www.pidgin.com.au if you would like to discuss payment for postage costs.
