Hello Lightstalkers,

In 2003 I spent 9 months teaching photojournalism in Afghanistan as part of an internationally sponsored project to rebuild independent media. One of my students Massoud Hosseini has subsequently spent the last five years working for local and international news agencies. At the same time he has been doggedly learning English and applying for scholarships to continue his education abroad.

The Loyalist College in Canada has offered Massoud an opportunity to study photojournalism and he is desperate to take them up on the offer. He needs to raise $4000 urgently for the requisite visa’s and airfares, which is a pretty monumental challenge when you consider that $50 per month is an above average wage in Afghanistan.

Please help – make a contribution, no matter how small – it all adds up.
