searching for photos of refugees and displaced people
|
Dear all,
The next issue of Middle East Report magazine (www.merip.org) will be primarily about refugees and displaced people. If anyone has photographed any of the subjects listed below, please feel free to let me know. My deadline is August 17th. As a small, non-profit organization we cannot afford to commission, so I’m looking for work you have already shot.
Thank you!
Regards,
Michelle

Hi Michelle,
I have various photos of Iraqi refugees in Abu Khamal, Syria (red cresent camp) and UN refugee camp also on the Syrian border with Iraq. Some photos date as far back as 2003. You can have a glimpse of some at my website www.photoradical.com in the section marked various. If you need more photos feel free to contact me.

Hello everyone,
Thanks for all the great photos. I will respond to everyone individually but I have received many emails off this list too so it may take a few days. The best way to show me photos is to direct me to a website or to send small low-res versions by email to me at mwoodward(at)merip(dot)org.
all the best,
Michelle

Hi everyone,
My deadline has passed, so I’ll take this thread down soon. However, it’s great to know about all your work. If I neglected to thank anyone personally, I apologize. I’ve been awfully busy and had many responses to this request.
all the best,
Michelle

No no, don’t take the thread down … in 5 years’ time we’ll still see people hopefully posting to it, saying they’ve got great shots of displaced people in the USA…
(Sorry, feeling a little morbid today about the state of the world)
