Seeking ride from Barcelona to Perpignan
|
Hello All -
I’m seeking a ride from Barcelona to Perpignan on Wednesday, September 3rd.
My flight gets into Barcelona at 9:15-am that day, and the next train leaves Thursday morning. I’d rather catch a ride on Wednesday than wait a full day for the train.
Of course I’ll share whatever expense such a ride entails. Any takers?? Please send me a pm and let’s work something out!
Thanks and best,
Lance

I might be wrong, but there should be a train at 16:42cet leaving in Barcelona, price around 34E in Turist Class. Its the train “ CATALAN TALGO”.
|
The Barcelona→Perpignan ticket is a fairly new service from what I understand. Try looking for other options by splitting up the trip.
Try looking for a Spanish train to Portbou (or FR “Port Bou”). This station has both Spanish and French trains. Then for the short hop to Perpignan look for a French carrier.
There are at least a dozen trains going in the direction of Girona & Portbou every day.
If you can, you’ll be glad you took the train instead of driving.

Just checked it again. Apart of the highspeedtrain at 16:42cet that I already mentioned, there are several more options.
Every two hours, the “CORAIL” leaves to CERBERE. You have to change there, this is a 4:30hours trip.
11:25, 13:25, 15:25, 17:25, 19:25
Price is for Touristclass just 16€, first class 30€.
Spanish/French trains are quite comfortable, I would also recommend to go by train, since leaving Barcelona by car is a mess, the Autopistas are expensive, fuel is expensive. Just try to get your ticketreservation at least one week in advance.

The train at 16:42 goes directly and its a 3hours trip only. I would take this one I guess.

Could be bad timing, Lance. If you take the slick train at 4:42 pm it looks like you will miss most of the Get-Together of Lightstalkers in Perpignan, tentatively set to begin at 7 pm on Wednesday, September 3. I’d be surprised if you won’t find some others driving to P. on your flight to Barcelona, particularly if it connects through a European gateway. More on the LS party later, after Jean Francois releases the Visa schedule.

hi Lance,
Olivier already said almost everything. just to give more information, at the airport, take a train to Barcelona Sants and from there you can take/buy tickets to trains barcelona-Cerbere and to cerbere-perpigan. see here the time table (Regional is the one) http://horarios.renfe.es/hir/index.jsp?page=hjhir130.jsp&O=BARCE&D=79316&U=VR&ID=s
the trip is ok with a nice view along the sea (in a considerable part of the trip). there is also a lot of young people doing inter-rail and so you can make small talk with lots of girls/boys.
cheers,
nelson

And i am looking for some transport from Barcelona Girono to Perpignian- is it hard to get there?
I see it’s only about 70-80 km… I hope there is some train or busses..
|
Aga, what day do you arrive Barcelona? If we arrive the same day, then we can travel to Perpignan together by the trains mentioned above..
|
I arrive to Barcelona GIRONA on September 2nd, so one day before you. I was checking the links but i don’t understand ANYTHING in French.. so i only have hope that there is some train from Girona :-)
