Seeking shooters who have done NGO work

I’m a graduate student at the Missouri School of Journalism. I want to talk with photojournalists who have shot for an NGO, either volunteer or paid, for research I’m conducting. If this description fits you, and you can spare a couple of hours, I’d love to interview you about your experience. One objective is to educate photojournalists about how to go about doing such work.

Thanks very much.

Hi Alisa,I have worked in NGOs for 15 years or so (environmental, human rights, health). Am newer to photography, though exploring the merge between the two. I have only shot for one NGO, a former employer. If this sounds like good persepctive, let me know. I’d be happy to talk.

As I said in my post, I expect the conversation to take an hour or two of your time. If you are comfortable, I will record it as I need to include a written transcript in my project report.

Hi Alisa,

Regarding my experience with journalists, I organized numerous demonstrations and events, and would occassionally pitch journalists to cover them, but often our communications person would do the outreach. On a good day I was interviewed and/or photographed by journalists to cover my work. I have organized press conferences. I am married to a foreign affairs journalist, and I have done freelance photography over the past year or so. Best, Heather
