Selected Artists for SLIDELUCK POTSHOW XII

A gentle reminder:

Your presence is requested on Saturday, August 2nd at McCarren Park Pool in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for Slideluck Potshow XII. This should be a truly unique event and there is a healthy buzz surrounding it. Currently, there are pieces about it in Flavorpill, The Village Voice, The Brooklyn Paper, on the PhotoShelter blog, there is an extensive two-part interview on Pixcetera, and Alys Kenny and I will be on WNYC’s The Brian Lehrer Show this Thursday at 10:30 for about half an hour. Come see what we have cooking:

Beer and wine will be available on site (don’t bring glass bottles!) but it’s a good idea to bring a blanket, cushions or beach chairs.

Please don’t forget to bring delicious food or something grill-ready! Our ’Cue-master will be there to handle your fine meats and vegetables. There is limited space on the grill, so either pick something up, bring some wasabi deviled eggs, a jicama orange salad, a pesto meatloaf, or a rhubarb peach cobbler.

We have done some research and have come to believe that this Saturday could very well be the biggest potluck in history. While we are at it, why not make it the best?

Spread the word! We have a pool to fill.

was a good event the XII?

Thanks Andy and Bob. I was lucky enough to be there Saturday night and I have to say that Alys and Casey (and all of the volunteers) put on a a great show. Outside under the Brooklyn night sky… a little threatening storm sweeping by… but then the stars came out (yes there are a couple of stars over Brooklyn). There was a giant pot luck supper and a grill going. A wading pool photo shoot, an impromptu game of frisbee, and a bunch of neon pool rafts to keep us comfy while we watched the show. I really enjoyed some of the work and can’t wait to go back through it once it is up online (http://www.slideluckpotshow.com). Alys mentioned that they’ll be launching a new website in the near future. They do so much on a shoe string budget. Anyone who can and would like to support this unique event so it can keep going should go to the website and donate.

Thank you again, Casey and Alys. Y’all are a class act. I hope to be at may more of these shows. Can’t wait to see the pictures.

Thanks for the kind words, Kelly. We are intending to launch in Austin, hopefully this year, and we can bring you into the loop if you like.
Cheers,
Casey
