Born to Haitian parents in New York City, my feet point in the direction from whence they came. I am a filmmaker and fashion designer. My desire to explore the art of film and design began with a need to share stories and aesthetics as diverse as the colliding elements and shapes that make up my identity.
For me, art should be handcrafted, sustainable, and a reflection of my independent way of life. Always in search of the Profound and the Absurd and the obscure, I’d like to connect with the sanbas, the storytellers, the griots, the village idiots and all modern day maroons; photographers and visual artists who see life as a collaboration to be shared, propelled, and reinvented.
I am going to Haiti this summer to finish shooting a music documentary on haitian roots music and to shoot for my independent fashion label Miss Bruno New York.
We are looking for someone who can work on our fashion, film/documentary, and music projects. We want someone interested in traveling the West Indies, West & South Africa and NYC; someone interested in third world politics; someone who can mesh the world of fashion, art, and photo journalism.
We want to build relationships with likeminded people: original thinkers & “artivists” like ourselves. At the moment, we just want to work on conceptualizing & nuturing the different projects we have in gestation. However, our next project will take off during the summer in Haiti.
We are a small independent brand looking to expand and build our design collective of artists we360.us. Think outside the box!
If you are interested, add me to your network or send me a private message.
Many thanks!
