Simba Russeau is a Beirut based multi-media storyteller.
Influenced by the reality of surviving 7 years, on the streets, she taught herself photography, video journalism, radio and print reporting as a weapon to empower her own voice.

For 4 years she worked as an assignment editor for Pacifica Radio’s Free Speech Radio News. A daily national and international radio news program.
Simba’s work, as a photographer and writer, has been published in Rolling Stone and Sowar Magazine, Le Monde, Internazionale, The Guardian Weekly, Inter Press Service, Menassat.com, IRIN News Agency and Lebanon’s Daily Star.
As a camera operator she has worked for Emmy award winning actor Tim Robbins, PBS’ “In the Life,” Sundance and independent filmmaker Jon Alpert. Currently she is working on photo essays documenting displaced faces around the world, migrant workers and women in the MENA region.
As a student of the martial arts Simba believes it’s important to appreciate your life and train hard everyday to develop better character and purpose, which is why she has dedicated her life to documenting social issues.
