My name is Simphiwe Nkwali I was born in 1978, Senior Photographer at Sunday Times based in Johannesburg, South Africa. I started photography as a street Photographer for about ten years. I then enrolled at Market Photo Workshop in Newtown down town Johannesburg.
After I qualified I worked for Beeld news paper in 2004 and then moved to Die Burger news paper in Cape Town. Late in 2004 I was transferred back to Beeld up until 2007.
In 2007 I joined the Sunday Times weekly newspaper as a Senior photographer up to date.
I was a judge at the Caxton Photographic Award in 2014. I Won the Standard Bank Sikuvile awards in the Hard News category in 2012. I was a runner up at the Mondi Journalism awards in 2008 and 2005.
I have covered major news and sports events such as 2010 FIFA World Cup, Confederations Cup (2009), Zimbabwean elections (2008) and Xenophobic Attacks in South Africa(2008) etc.
