La Academia de Artes Visuales y el Foundry Photojournalism Workshop tienen el placer de abrir sus puertas a SLIDELUCK POTSHOW. Slideluck Potshow es una experiencia visual y gastronómica, sin fines de lucro, que viene a la ciudad de México el día 21 de junio del 2008. Slideluck Potshow proporciona una plataforma para artistas que les permite exponer su trabajo ante la comunidad artística del país y del exterior.

Slideluck Potshow ha tenido gran éxito a nivel mundial. Entre las ciudades en las que más recientemente se ha presentado están Nueva York, San Pablo, Berlín, Madrid, Toronto, Barcelona, Londres, Bogotá y Milán. Este evento fue fundado en el 2000 por el fotógrafo Casey Kelbaugh, junto con la Co-Directora, Alys Kenny, quien estará presente para la segunda edición del Slideluck Potshow Mexico.

Slideluck Potshow reúne a personas relacionadas con el arte y la fotografía. El evento consiste en una cena acompanada de presentación de imágenes. Todos traen comida y bebidas mientras nuestros miembros pueden presentar en 5 minutos sus imágenes diapositivas.

Primero degustamos la comida hogareña y deliciosa mientras bebemos y conversamos (platicamos/charlamos/convivimos) por un par de horas. Luego empieza la exhibición: bajamos las luces, se pide silencio y empieza una muestra diapositiva.


Slideluck es una oportunidad para artistas y amantes del arte para reunirse y compartir su trabajo y pasión, en un ambiente no competitivo y amigable. Los presentadores varían desde profesionales a aficionados, pero no importa cuán importante sean, sus fotos se mostrarán de manera equitativa no por más de 5 minutos. Se permiten y aprecian todo tipo de libertades de presentación y contenido. Se puede acompañar la presentación con música, comentarios, y/u otras sorpresas. Entre nuestros miembros y colaboradores se encuentran: The Guggenheim Foundation, Elliot Erwitt, Chris Jordan, Elinor Carucci, Martin Schoeller, Alec Soth, Nina Berman, Edward Burtynsky, Todd Hido, Alex Majoli, Doug Menuez, Bruce Gilden, Vincent Laforet, y muchos más.

Slideluck Potshow es un foro para que artistas expositores, curadores y editores muestren sus trabajos, mientras se introducen en la comunidad artística en un intercambio vital y fresco. Fotoreporteros, pintores, coreógrafos, escultores, diseñadores visuales y de moda, y fotógrafos profesionales muestran todos sus trabajos. Todos juntos, en una atmósfera relajada y entretenida. Más que nada esto inspira y divierte, y eso es lo que a todos nos lleva a crear desde un primer momento.

The Academy of Visual Arts and the Foundry Photojournalism Workshop are pleased to welcome Slideluck Potshow back to Mexico City. Slideluck Potshow is a combination of slideshow and potluck and the second show in Mexico City will take place on the 21st of June, 2008. This is a unique and exciting platform for sharing work, both from Mexican and international artists.

Slideluck Potshow is quite popular in many cities around the world, including: New York City (where it is based,) São Paulo, Berlin, Madrid, Toronto, Barcelona, London, Bogotá and Milan. The event was founded in 2000 by photographer Casey Kelbaugh he will be coming, together with Co-Director Alys Kenny, for the second edition of Slideluck Potshow Mexico.

The evening begins with a couple hours of mingling and dining on the home-cooked delights of those who attend, and then the lights are dimmed, the crowd is hushed, and a spectacular slideshow commences.

We will be featuring a slideshow of emerging and established Mexican and international talent. Photojournalists, painters, sculptors, comedians, fashion and fine-art photographers all present work alongside one another in a relaxed and spirited atmosphere. Past contributors to Slideluck Potshows include: The Guggenheim Foundation, Elliott Erwitt, Chris Jordan, Todd Hido, Elinor Carucci, Martin Schoeller, Alec Soth, Chris Buck, Alistair Thain, Marcus Bleasdale, Alex Majoli, Martin Parr, Alessandra Sanguinetti, Bruce Gilden, Nina Berman, Vincent Laforet and many others.



Submit your artwork for SLPS Mexico II! We are currently seeking cohesive, creative, and thought-provoking submissions. Participants are encouraged to take creative risks, in terms of content and presentation. Submissions will be collected online in advance of the slideshow. Cutting-edge multimedia presentations are welcomed and all shows must be accompanied by music, commentary, or other audio surprises. Presentations are limited to five minutes or less.
