some iMovie questions
|
I have been experimenting editing video shot with a Canon digicam in iMovie and I have a few questions:-
I’ve got Quicktime Pro installed so when it comes to sharing the project I have the Quicktime options available. These include chosing the destination colour space. I assume SRGB is a good choice. Am I right?
What – if any – are the advantages of saving in .mov format with Quicktime (which takes ages) as opposed to .m4v (proposed by iMovie without Quicktime), which is much quicker. I really want to have at least one archive copy of the edited film in the highest possible quality, in the same way that I try to archive a 16 bit TIFF of my retouched photos and I don’t know what the appropriate format might be.
Are there alternatives to YouTube if I want to imbed video on a website without hosting the video on my own server?
Sorry if these questions are stupid: new territory…
Thanks!

David, did you check out the tutorial I posted a while back on iMovie, etc? That might help you a bit, but it has been a while since i wrestled with multimedia and I cannot remember just now all the details so I cannot give you a more concrete answer. I do remember that the Quicktime options all pretty much sucked and that it is better to convert the file to Flash. That is all explained in the tutorial. Good Luck.
