somewhere between a drifting memory and a dream
Ed, after viewing it only once it became permanently embedded in the dream songs of my mind.
Really excellent, mesmerizing.
Beautiful, haunting, sensual. Thanx for sharing this with us.
B, P, R, many thanks for looking….B, cool re: the brain.

what i wrote here almost 2 years ago:
quote, daddy, quote;
“seeing: ed leveckis
in the middle of the night i awoke from a dream. i had seen ed leveckis’ beautiful new digital work at flicr…..and i thought: to see……
to remember what you saw in the space of a moment when the garage-door-lids of your eyes close in their unhinging blink: to remember what you saw when your eye(s) blinked….what you saw when your eyes, for an instant, could not see.
a sounding…..
i love u Leveckis…and i love ur dance=dreams! :))>

Ed…I thinks comrad Bobsky likes your stuff a big bunch…you know I do. G.
Intimate plus plus. From where the music? It fits well. Sensual latenightedness.
Ed CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!! This is not a slideshow, It´s Fu´ng POETRY. Thanks and keep on track mate Cheers, Pupo
Great stuff as per usual…............reckon you can break it up into 3 or 4 different shows…............. with a 6 minute job one spends too much time pre-empting…... or it could be me a life of quickies …...... smirk
I don’t know, Imants. Six minutes is not so long for a songline.
beautiful, delicate and soulful. love the music.
some of the fades work beautifuly creating another set of images, I like the way some colour fades in and out. wonderful
Ed, I like your stuff very much. Not least the way that you manage to give your pictures a very personal signature look. As the others have said, there are some great transitions here. For once – not always the case with slideshows, I think- the whole is much greater than the sum of its parts. Is that the right expression? I’m losing my english, I’m afraid.

i watched this last night before i went to bed.it gave me a strange dream.
there was a small white horse on the roof of my house, with a nail through its hoof.a little puppy led me up to the roof, then disappeared.i took the horses hoof in my hands and, whispering in its ear, told it not to worry, that i had to pull the nail out,but it would not hurt.the nail came out very easily and the horse turned into a beautiful young woman.we then both started sliding down the roof, stopping only when i managed to brace my foot against the top of the drain-pipe.the dream ended.
thanks ed,for the slideshow and the dream :)

As you were sliding down the roof with the horsey woman, Michael, I was waiting to hear about your foot getting stuck on a nail.
Yeah, agree with Pupo and David. Here is a narrative where the whole really hangs together and counts for more than the parts (though the parts are great too!). Ed, “you got eyes.” (and a brain to put it all together).
What a trip..I love that you are living this journey, so yours, which brings a merit/weight to the medium that can’t be beat with a stick. If only I could be your barfly for a night.
Ed, this is really great, even if no nice looking girls showed up in my dreams as a consequence. Hate the lyrics, though ;-)

V-, thanks man.
B-, many thanks and absolutely.
G-, ya think?
P-, thanks,
Pupo, thanks man and will do.
I-, thanks, thought about that but like the tune and the lenth, (kinda trance like) am thinking of pulling a few shots from it though.
J-, thank ya
Brian, totally agree. thnk if i pull some pics, play with the sequencing and keep the lenth the same wil allow for longer transitions.
David, thanks and understood.
Eva, no thanks for looking.
Michael, thanks, sounds like a cool dream, got any pics of it? :]
R, thanks
Jon, thanks always enjoy hearing your thoughts.
Erica, thanks and would be fun to hang out some night.
Akaky, thanks man, sorry about the song but it’s been bouncing around in my head with the pics long before i put this together.
Michael, thanks.
yeah keep the whole thing moving so your eye can’t settle on a frame, I’d like to see one of your building shots too
B-, ya, window reflections would be nuts
F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C great work, big up for you Ed! Always inspiring see your pictures. Gianfrs
very impressive. what struck me was the consistency: many subjects, one unique eye throughout. brilliant stuff.
beautiful, fantastic images of this crazy underworld. congratulations Ed, for your eyes, your style, and your subject. just two words on the rithm of the sequencing: are u planning to just let the fading all along the slideshow? have u tried to use fading and staccato (?don’t know if it’s the right word!!!) as with the images where you combine the blurred with the sharp? take a look at this work by pellegrin, see how images sound and sequence are so perfectly shaped together. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcU5Ba4ufqw

Gorgeous work. First time I watched it, I wanted to see each frame for a moment more, but on a second watching, I wouldn’t change a thing.
Amazing work, My sincere compliments!
thanks all…
Dana, thanks for the link. i wasn’t planning on it but will definately play around with it some (probably a lot) more and try it out. i can see myself up to my knees in these things, different themes, same themes different takes….
mesmerizing indeed, thanks for sharing Ed. And I like the length, time to really get into it, time to take a good step back from my thoughts and be fully drawn into your world, and to want to see it all over again – a voyage – shorter wouldn’t leave your mind the time to travel. i want to see that projected BIG somewhere soon in an intense black room !!
Goddamn! I’ve always loved your work. Thanks! let’s see more…
I also wanted to say, I’d like a little more time on the still image without any transition going on.
Very atmospheric and some beautiful imagery, for me the transitions were the strongest elements – merging elements, weaving a narative of sorts. The piece seemed to contain two visual elements that clashed and broke the dream and that was the more obviously straight portraits whose clarity and lack of ambiguity contrasting heavily with the other more ethereal images. I also found the music dated, too specific of time and scene.
