About
After obtaining a B.A. degree from Columbia College Chicago in 2003, Stacie Freudenberg traveled around the U.S. interning, freelancing and even taking a staff position at small community papers. After returning to Chicago where she interned at the Kane County Chronicle and the Daily Herald, she began her full-time freelance career 2 years ago. Since then Freudenberg has been a frequent contributor to the Associated Press and The Chicago Tribune as well as many other local and national publications. In the past, her work has graced the pages of USA Today, MSNBC.com, The Washington Post and The Detroit Free Press, to name a few. Her ongoing long-term project, “Life in the Big Top”, brings to light a subculture of entertainers who work long, hard hours to carry on a family tradition rarely seen, or understood, by today’s generation. Future projects include a trip to Thailand to document the plight of Burmese refugees in hopes of creating awareness for the unfolding crisis inflicted upon minorities from Myanmar (formerly Burma).
