From the 3rd until the 9th of June, Gallery “Frichez nous la paix”, located in 22 rue Denoyez, Belleville will present « Belleville et Menilmontant, images du passé et du present » an experimental exhibition of Stefania Mizara. A series of pictures taken over the last 10 years, in these two northern neighbourhoods of Paris that were emptied to be destroyed and squatted over the years by immigrants and artists looking for cheap houses in the City of Lights.
During the exhibition, pictures printed on canvas will leave sufficient space so as the artists of Belleville can participate in the exhibition by painting around the pictures of their neighbourhood.
(Nowadays Belleville and Menilmontant still keep this multicultural atmosphere and they are still considered as the centre of the marginal arts.)
