About
Stefano Snaidero was born in Venice in 1979. During his civil engineering studies he discovered Photography with a retrospective of Magnum Agency in Rome that stimulated him to follow a new way. In 2003 he graduated at Cromatic Photo Accademy after following a year course recognized by Lazio Region and in the same year he took part to the lessons of Social Photography in the Lateranensis Interdisciplinare Centre.
His passion for travelling and his social care directed him right from the beginnig to Reportage and in 2004 he completed his formation getting a Master in Photojournalism at High Institute for Photography and Integrated Communication with a project on the life of Tor Bella Monaca suburb in Rome.
Since 2004 he has been working with the most important italian daily newspapers and week magazines alternating the freelance activity to collaborations with Ansa agency in 2005 and Contrasto agency in 2006.
Since 2007 he is a member of Prospekt agency.
His pictures has been published in the first pages of daily newspapers like Corriere della Sera, la Repubblica, Il Manifesto, l’Unità, Il Messaggero, or in week magazines like l’Espresso, il Venerdì, Internazionale, Panorama, Left-Avvenimenti, Diario, Carta.
In his reportages he has dealt with different themes like immigration from East Europe to Berlin, the life in the Chicago’s ghettos, life conditions of asylum seekers in Italy or the demonstrations in Val Susa against Tav. Among his artistic experiences, in 2005 he took part to Photography International Festival of Rome, Circuit section, with his first personal exhibition, and in 2006 he was the assistant of Mimmo Jodice to realized his last work on the city of Rome. In 2007 he has showed his photos in the travelling project “Ereditare il paesaggio”, edited by Giovanna Calvenzi and Maddalena D’ Alfonso, with an exhibition at the Ara Pacis in Rome.
