Hi
I am a French photographer who has moved to the
USA in 2007, after working and living in South East Asia Cambodia from 2004 to 2007, a country that I have visited and photographed on many occasions since the early 90s. In Cambodia I used to live in Phnom Penh where I managed the Popil PhotoGallery, an artistic space that I have created in 2005 and exclusively dedicated to photographic arts. In addition to freelancing, managing the gallery and curating shows, I also taught photography and photojournalism to Cambodian undergraduate students.
I am now living in the Washington DC area, available for photographic assignments.
There are two projects/”works in progress” that I would like to share with you:
- The continuity of my documentary project of the lifestories of Cambodian people here in the USA, now that I no longer live in Cambodia. You can see this work at: http://khmerabroad.blogspot.com
- “The Substance beneath the Visible”, a project of documentation of the USA with images captured by boxes.
You can see this work at: http://www.pbase.com/stephanejanin/the_substance_beneath_the_visible
I hope to hear from you sometime,
Stéphane
