Steve Simon has been passionate about the photographic life since age 12 in Montreal. He has published three books, The Republicans, (Charta); Empty Sky – The Pilgrimage to Ground Zero (Stanke) and Healing Waters (University of Alberta Press). His new book, Heroines & Heroes, Hope, HIV and Africa will be launched during the World Aids Conference in Toronto in August. He has appeared as guest lecturer/workshop leader at various arts events in Canada and The United States, and has received numerous international awards with solo shows in New York, Buenos Aires, Toronto and Montreal. His work was shown at twice at Visa Pour L’Image Photography Festival, Perpignan, France.
