still images for tv?

anyone direct to info about selling stills for tv broadcast? how much to charge, this kind of thing. had trouble using search engine on LS to find old threads

Eros,this completely depends on the nature of the pictures, he rights involved, etc. There is no standard they are going to ask if they can get them for nothing and then you are going to negotiate. Email me the details and I can get you some ideas.

i just sold some photos to the history channel for a tv program. get in touch and i’ll tell you about it. for me it was a quantity issue- i took into consideration how many they wanted to use.

I sold several images to Warner Bros about a year ago for use in an episode of ER. It pays reasonably well but you have to haggle.

It also depends on what you give them in terms of a licence and what their Terms and conditions are.
