Syria, translator, cost of life, accomodation...?

hello

I am trying to put down a budget for Syria, about one month this summer. I looking for any infos that could help me to decide either or not i’ll afford it. Any idea if life is costly? hotels? translator? ...

I guess food is quite cheap….

thanks for any help

Hi, I just arrived yesterday in Damascus. Expect things here to be cheap, I found some hotel sites with on-line booking try and look for it. I guess 7-10 euro if you don’t have any preferences. I live with family for the time being so have not been hotel hunting yet. Else there are some guesthouses, like “Arnes Guesthouse” but I think he only takes people from Denmark… Not sure. The Danish Institute in Damascus takes in non Danes if they have room, that’s cheap and its a really nice place to stay.
Get the visa before hand, then you only need to fill out the blue card at the airport with zero questions asked. But that takes time, especially if you need a journalist VISA.
I’ll be here until 17 of September if you need more advice
