About
I am a Brazilian journalist and the BBC Brasil correspondent in Beirut. I also contribute to Folha de S.Paulo and several Brazilian and english and spanish language magazines. I do news radio for BBC Brazilian World Service and photograph as well.
My main work is covering wars and conflicts, human rights issues, culture and social life stories. As a journalist, I’ve been in Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru, Haiti, Angola and Egypt. I have a particular interest in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, but also like stories from Asia.
My interests are the conflicts and their consequences on human lives, specially the child soldiers stories and the arms trade to undeveloped countries and how it shapes their future.
I also photograph to my stories and work as a fixer for foreign journalists coming to Lebanon. I’ve won awards in Brazil for my covering on conflicts and human rights in Haiti and Angola.
I have a BA in Journalism and speak Portuguese (native language), English, Spanish and Arabic. In 2005, I published in partnership with other journalists a book entitled “Radioactive: the past, present and future of radio”.
I the same year, I wrote a 200-page research called “The Circus of the Good and the Evil: the BBC experience in the Iraq War”.
