The Basque Country
Hi. I’m heading to the Basque Country in a week’s time and I just wanned to ask you if you know any good places to shoot nature or anything interesting really? There’s been a recent killing in that region but that’s connected with the today’s elections in Spain so I hope that won’t affect the region now that it’s all over.
Thanks for any advice

Forget about shooting and just eat, the food there is spectacular!

Zugarramurdi and anywhere heading east of there into mountainous Navarre, the countryside is spectacular with great little historical villages and towns full of unique culture. In fact the whole area between San Sebastian and Zugarramurdi is great. Bilboa is a not that great but you`d need to include it in any story for contrast and completeness and at easter it should be worth visiting as anywhere in Spain is, though I don`t need to tell you that! I am from Bilbao myself and know quite well the Basque Country. Don´t worry for your life if you are not in politics :) Hope this information would be useful.
For countryside, I will suggest you: Valle de IRATI (Navarra), Around Durango, beautiful for Montains (Vizcaya) Orduña and Izarra (beautiful valleys around, in Vizcaya on the way to Alava)
All along the coast, small and interesting villages like: Bermeo (fisher village, very pictorical), Mundaka, Getaria (a great spot over the coast, belows to Guipuzcua) and Fuenterrabia (Guipuzcoa, on the way to France)
Big cities like Bilbao (full of contrast), San Sebastian (one of the most beautiful places in the Basque Country) and Vitoria (the political capital) have many things to see and discover and you will get free maps and lots of information in the Tourist Office, also might have more suggestions to prepare your trip.
Best thing in my opinion is to travel by car and take small roads instaed of motorway and be able to stop by disceovering those places.
If there is anything I can do or any help, feel free to contact me again, I will try to do my best. I am in Madrid at the moment.

thanks for all advice you ve given me so far. I also figured out that renting a car will be definitely the best option and so I’ll go for that.
Muchas gracias Kris.
