The cloud is falling

I read the article twice. I respect but do not know Laforet. He made a lot of interesting observations and provocative suggestions. Definitely got me to thinking. I’ll continue my core belief that still photography has much value, that indeed new, non-traditional outlets and income sources need to be found. New photojournalism will certainly be different in the near future and I look forward to seeing what transpires. I like Laforet’s idea of the ‘cloud is falling’, that is, stormy weather ahead especially for those in pj/doc/reportage field and his reminder that there is blue sky above.

I thought it was inspiring with a good dose of common sense.

Eventually this business will either be free or a closed shop and the general public (yet to be born) none the wiser ….......... then in the past (the dark ages not the Bush variety), when news came via word of mouth, it was free
