I assume John Gimenez made that post about PDN’s overpriced “contest” that he organizes every year un-replyable in order to avoid any sort of discussion about how disgusting their fees are. i just thought that it’d be fair to point out that paying to enter contests sucks. i think id be better off buying lottery tickets

JR PHOTO COMPETITION-ENTRY CLOSES ON 1-APRIL-2008.
See entry rules at www.photosuckers.com Please note there is an entry fee of $100 payable with each photo submitted.
This year’s competition is on the theme ‘Exploitation’.
All photos must have been shot during 2007 and will become the sole copyright and property of JR.
The lucky winner will receive camera equipment worth $50, a bottle of sparkling cider and a meal for one at the Rowell Fayre Fish and Chip restaurant. Runner up prizes include a Holga lens cap kit, graduated tobacco filter, and a table top tripod made by wobbly inc.
The winning images will be published in the Rothwell Parish Magazine and also on www.JRroyaltyfreestockphotos.com

Problem with contests such as John’s is that one has to deal with the vexing prize part. Notworking sites have that problem licked. Set up the stupid site and next thing you know it’s worth $15 billion.
