The aim of the Vodacom Journalist of the Year Awards is to discover, through a countrywide search, those gifted people whose work can be honored and rewarded. Vodacom recognises the impact every piece of good, solid journalism has on society and the potential it has to make a real difference.

Prizes:

* Each Regional Category Winner receives R7 500 * Each National Winner receives R15 000 & a BlackBerry smartphone * Vodacom Journalist of the Year 2008 receives R125 000 in cash, as well as a donation of R125 000 to an official charity of their choosing * Editors choice – 3 month learnership at the Thomson Foundation in Wales

The competition may only be entered on a regional basis
Entries must have been published / broadcast between 1 May 2007 and 30 April 2008
