Artist Statement: My work is centered in a variety of subjects that range from capturing emotional political rallies to seeking out old and forgotten landscapes. Disrupting reality and blurring the distinction between real and imaginary space is a theme I constantly explore in my work. Perhaps this happens through a crude digital camera, essentially a child’s toy, capable of only .02 pixels or by way of my plastic Holga camera. It’s both the simplicity and complexity that draws me to this craft. I see the world in photographs. My eye is a lens trained on the world around me.
