Pro labs can do this but it is very expencive. I inquired once in Tokyo and it was beyond rediculous.

Most high end photo labs have (or had) devices that wrote digital files to 4×5 ot 8×10 film. My experience with these was about 7 years ago, and with the level of acceptance of digital files, they may have gone our of fashion. You might call around to the pro Paris labs.

In Baltimore, they used to do it relatively routinely. The cost depends on the size of film you want to make. The size of digital files required depends on the size of film you want.
Inquire the lab in Paris or google for negative output, 4K, etc. The negative output is more expensive than slide output for 35mm, and it costs USD$10 per image. Digital film recorder will do the actual work. Since you start out with digital files, you can have it done anywhere in the world as long as they are willing to ship the results back to you.
According to my lab catalog, they are not listing any prices for sizes other than 35mm.
In order to print from, you need to have sufficient-size files, otherwise, you end up seeing pixels.
Nowadays, if I want prints, I’ll have a lab make a print from digital files directly.

Tiane, I think Dupon will do it http://www.dupon.com/ (see “scan and shoot”). Best to give them a call on Monday…

i’ve seen decent results of high-quality digital prints reproduced on technical pan or similar film. would probably take some fiddling to get it just right, though.

You are looking for a lab that uses a Kodak LVT Rhino to record digital files at a very high dpi onto film.
A slide / negative made from a CRT based filmrecorder is not the same thing and inferior.
